Coughlin The weather started out clear with us sitting in a hole in the satelliete images, but the hole rapidly closed and conditions became very cloudy around 23:00. I closed at 00:30 with the clouds being totally overcast and posibly causing rain. I re-opened at 03:30 when the clouds began to break apart and a few holes opened. However, the holes were not big enough for the second half observer on tspec, and he did not get any useable data. Both observers were very gracious to hand over the telescope for Agile TR2 testing while it was too cloudy to get any data with Triplespec. I was able to get Agile to focus nicely right around a secondary focus of -1350um while the instrument was set to 'agile1', getting a best fwhm of 1.65", which is what I expected seeing to be given I was shooting through the clouds. 2d profile looked nice and round. Bill logged on and took some dome flat data as well. Pointing as well on Agile TR2 was accurate to about 1', with stars sitting just on the left edge of the field upon first slewing to them. Also the tertiary handled beautifully with about 5 switches between NA2 and TR2. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20:33 TSPEC 330( 1203) -3 59 16.1 19.6 17.2 18.3 17.1 1.60 03:48 TSPEC 50( 676) 55 41 14.7 14.2 14.8 13.9 14.4 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 67 25 11 262 (W) 1000 mstly clr none 17:00 71 30 16 232 (SW) 1131 mstly clr none 18:00 70 28 8 263 (W) 1207 mstly clr none 19:00 66 28 7 286 (WNW) 1315 mstly clr none 20:00 64 28 2 242 (WSW) 1310 clear none 21:00 62 27 8 197 (SSW) 1336 clear none 22:00 62 26 11 182 (S) 1458 mstly clr none 23:00 59 31 16 139 (SE) 1174 mstly cldy none 00:00 57 37 24 137 (SE) 1404 mstly cldy none 01:00 56 40 29 135 (SE) 1461 cloudy none 02:00 57 39 19 135 (SE) 1331 ptly cldy none 03:00 59 34 24 173 (S) 1392 ptly cldy none 04:00 58 34 14 181 (S) 1532 mstly cldy none 05:00 57 35 21 204 (SSW) 1686 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
