I was able to focus but just as the telescope was turned over to the observers and they were setting up on their field an orographic system formed quickly within 10 minutes over the site making the skies opaque again. We were forced to close due to rain but we were able to reopen at 00:15. Orographic clouds quickly forming and then being pushed away from the site by a high pressure system to east was bothersome all night. We wer able to remain open for the remainder fo the night. At 06:35 while I was closing up and filling instruments there was a loss of utility power. The enclosure controller had faulted as a result. I reset it. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:04 dis-slit -125( 407) 97 69 16.3 19.0 18.0 18.2 16.9 --- 1.37 00:15 dis-slit -76( 389) -2 31 15.1 16.7 16.2 15.9 15.4 --- 1.90 01:04 dis-slit 32( 391) -23 79 14.9 15.5 15.4 14.9 14.8 --- 1.69 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 66 47 11 140 (SE) 1518 cloudy none 17:00 67 46 14 142 (SE) 1405 cloudy none 18:00 68 45 11 146 (SE) 1372 cloudy none 19:00 66 44 9 157 (SSE) 1320 cloudy none 20:00 64 45 12 134 (SE) 1420 cloudy none 21:00 63 45 12 169 (S) 1438 ptly cldy none 22:00 62 46 17 144 (SE) 1577 cloudy rain 23:00 61 45 15 134 (SE) 1505 cloudy none 00:00 60 45 22 126 (SE) 1573 ptly cldy none 01:00 59 45 24 123 (ESE) 1662 ptly cldy none 02:00 58 45 20 135 (SE) 1736 ptly cldy none 03:00 57 46 19 147 (SSE) 1615 clear none 04:00 57 46 19 151 (SSE) 1713 clear none 05:00 57 45 15 154 (SSE) 1610 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
