Good seeing, clear skies. During second half while running both DIS slitviewer and the NA2 guider we suddenly lost stars while happily guiding on an object. No clouds in the sky, no error messages. Only thing that made sense was the eyelid was closed even though the enclosure gui reported them open. I went up into the dome a discovered the eyelid was in fact closed and would not even function under manual control. Called Dave Woods, after some troubleshooting we finally determined that the actuators controlling the eyelids had lost pressure. Found the Kaser pump reporting 0 psi. Called Mark and he suggested power-cycling the pump and it immediately began to re-pressurize. Once pressure was back and I checked out all the systems, eyelids worked both manual and in auto. Lost about 1:40. DIS blue ion pump seems to be working fine although the leds are pegged. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UC03 D T/H 02:54 04:34 eyelids lost pressure ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:02 dis-slit 141( 479) 190 65 14.0 15.0 14.7 14.0 13.9 1.08 23:55 dis-slit 139( 400) 251 48 13.2 13.1 13.4 12.6 13.0 1.18 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 61 33 25 276 (W) 1258 clear none 17:00 66 33 17 214 (SW) 1273 clear none 18:00 64 30 19 268 (W) 1232 clear none 19:00 62 32 15 258 (WSW) 1315 clear none 20:00 58 32 20 264 (W) 1284 mstly clr none 21:00 57 32 15 267 (W) 1312 mstly clr none 22:00 57 33 17 265 (W) 1262 clear none 23:00 57 33 10 265 (W) 1309 clear none 00:00 56 34 13 268 (W) 1311 clear none 01:00 55 34 14 282 (WNW) 1341 clear none 02:00 55 33 16 294 (WNW) 1466 clear none 03:00 54 32 13 291 (WNW) 1399 clear none 04:00 54 31 10 318 (NW) 1262 clear none 05:00 54 31 8 288 (WNW) 1372 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
