I was also able to slew to a few bright stars east of the meridian and check pointing with the NA2 guider. Earlier today Fritz had located a software bug in the altitude controller. This fixed the problem with the poor pointing and tracking we were seeing Wednesday evening. First half Fritz contacted me totell me he found another bug in the altitude controller software. He was able to correct the error and had me reboot the controller at midnight. No other problems, everything worked well. Seeing was excellent. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:04 NICFPS 48( 973) 158 80 14.3 14.9 14.8 14.2 14.1 Z 0.64 21:17 NA2gdr -931(42068) 173 81 14.3 14.6 14.6 13.9 14.0 R+nd2 0.88 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 63 29 21 254 (WSW) 1353 ptly cldy none 17:00 66 30 29 249 (WSW) 1933 ptly cldy none 18:00 63 28 21 242 (WSW) 1597 mstly clr none 19:00 62 28 23 259 (W) 2344 mstly clr none 20:00 59 26 24 257 (WSW) 2394 mstly clr none 21:00 58 25 20 266 (W) 1768 clear none 22:00 58 23 21 266 (W) 1110 clear none 23:00 57 24 22 269 (W) 1013 clear none 00:00 56 25 24 270 (W) 707 clear none 01:00 54 25 23 267 (W) 807 clear none 02:00 53 24 22 264 (W) 1062 clear none 03:00 52 25 20 262 (W) 885 clear none 04:00 51 25 19 264 (W) 824 clear none 05:00 50 24 18 261 (W) 736 clear none 06:00 50 24 22 264 (W) 624 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
