A simple nicfps expose init fixed it. Apollo was able to use their time tonight after all. They struggled with a few issues but still managed to get a successful return. Around 03:00 the winds shifted direction and speed. Outside temperatures dropped, dust rose and humidity increased. The dust contained a substantial amount of pollen (as seen on hard surfaces outside). Closed at 03:40 as conditions worsened. When closing I (and the 2.5m observers) noted a distinct strange smell in the air outside; not exactly smokey but maybe smoke + pollen. Could not open again. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:43 NICFPS 162(1324) -113 71 17.8 19.7 18.4 18.3 17.8 Z 0.69 02:24 ECHELLE -146(-480) -156 40 15.5 15.0 15.3 13.9 14.8 nd1 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 72 26 18 244 (WSW) 1799 mstly clr none 17:00 72 30 13 264 (W) 1679 mstly clr none 18:00 71 27 11 276 (W) 1641 clear none 19:00 69 25 9 271 (W) 1495 clear none 20:00 64 20 13 215 (SW) 1552 clear none 21:00 64 20 14 243 (WSW) 1513 clear none 22:00 63 20 14 260 (W) 1554 clear none 23:00 62 18 12 263 (W) 1628 clear none 00:00 62 18 8 273 (W) 1805 clear none 01:00 61 17 7 249 (WSW) 1789 clear none 02:00 60 18 6 262 (W) 1722 clear none 03:00 57 15 3 32 (NNE) 1706 clear none 04:00 48 43 15 78 (ENE) 4116 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
