The night was quite nice, photometric throughout with good to decent seeing most of the time. We had an outflow boundary come through around 03:15, with a spike in humidity and dust and some very bad seeing, but then the wind shifted back around to the west and everything settled again. At the beginning of the night I had trouble with the rotator, which didn't move but didn't give any informative error messages. Fritz logged in and restarted the rotator controller, and after that it worked well. We also had some repeats of ugly images with the Tspec slitviewer for long exposure times (45s), but in this case it was clear that the component images were indeed saturated. Previously it seemed like the pre-subtract images weren't saturated, but perhaps that was confusion. It was pretty clear this time, and shorter exposure times worked well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 20:42 dis-slit 8( 541) 48 66 16.3 19.0 18.0 17.6 17.0 - 1.10 01:06 APOLLO -100( 1231) 18 28 15.9 15.9 16.1 14.9 15.5 5000 1.50 02:20 TSPEC 20( 683) -46 44 15.2 15.1 15.0 13.8 14.6 Ks 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 28 4 208 (SSW) 1768 clear none 17:00 72 28 11 263 (W) 1658 clear none 18:00 73 29 12 257 (WSW) 1315 clear none 19:00 69 25 10 249 (WSW) 1144 clear none 20:00 63 20 16 232 (SW) 1431 clear none 21:00 62 19 11 222 (SW) 1282 clear none 22:00 62 19 16 239 (WSW) 1091 clear none 23:00 62 19 11 258 (WSW) 1051 clear none 00:00 62 19 8 261 (W) 1006 clear none 01:00 62 17 12 307 (NW) 1080 clear none 02:00 59 15 9 333 (NNW) 1109 clear none 03:00 61 17 3 253 (WSW) 977 clear none 04:00 60 15 1 254 (WSW) 1668 clear none 05:00 59 15 6 236 (SW) 1178 clear none 06:00 56 14 5 199 (SSW) 1345 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
