This put the TCC into an odd state where it wasn't seeing the telescope status updates even though other processes seemed to be going normally. I had to restart the TCC in order to get it straightened out. Tonight we had thin variable clouds, with some periods of photometric skies, and moderate seeing. Pointing was good, but with both APOLLO and DIS during the second half there were signs of poor tracking. It's reasonable to expect this will improve with the engineering later in the week, but we'll have to keep an eye on it until then. For the most part the guiding software was able to keep up with the drift so long as there was a good guide star. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 20:19 dis-slit -50( -343) 19 81 0.7 2.2 1.7 1.2 0.9 1.50 00:04 APOLLO -25( 441) 303 57 -0.8 -0.8 -0.5 -1.5 -0.8 1.50 01:11 dis-slit 9( -445) 240 60 -0.8 -1.2 -0.8 -2.0 -1.2 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 35 6 3 338 (NNW) 377 ptly cldy none 17:00 34 8 7 358 (N) 376 ptly cldy none 18:00 37 7 11 314 (NW) 376 ptly cldy none 19:00 36 5 9 356 (N) 370 mstly clr none 20:00 34 3 5 353 (N) 345 clear none 21:00 32 4 4 315 (NW) 374 clear none 22:00 32 4 5 342 (NNW) 302 clear none 23:00 31 5 7 317 (NW) mstly clr none 00:00 31 6 9 354 (N) 331 ptly cldy none 01:00 30 7 5 1 (N) 330 ptly cldy none 02:00 30 7 8 344 (NNW) 293 ptly cldy none 03:00 30 5 20 32 (NNE) 386 ptly cldy none 04:00 31 4 13 39 (NE) 334 ptly cldy none 05:00 26 7 15 52 (NE) 307 ptly cldy none 06:00 28 5 13 38 (NE) 372 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
