Seeing was decent to moderate all night. Targets tonight were fairly bright so we were able to stay open all night. There was no threat of precip. Pointing was off considerably for the echelle being just outside the field of view. I did not take time to make a correction for the first program since time was short. At just prior to 0430 (UT10:26:06) alt and rot axes halted with controller errors. "slew computation did not converge in 30 iterations", "slew computation did not converge in 30 iterations", "awakened too late, adjust Tune parameters (or fix bug)" were a few of the error messages seen. They were also accompanied by LTA4, LTA5 port read match errors. After a reinitialization of the axes we were quickly able to reslew and get back on target. None of the tracking or pointing problems reported over the weekend were noticed. Nodding with tspec behaved well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW09 T T/S 04:26 04:28 Axes halted ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:37 ECHELLE -83(-687) 239 53 6.0 9.9 8.2 8.9 7.2 nd3 1.10 20:47 TSPEC -8( 287) 238 41 5.8 7.5 6.5 5.8 5.7 Ks 0.93 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 48 19 15 265 (W) 472 mstly clr none 17:00 49 18 12 240 (WSW) 529 clear none 18:00 48 11 5 239 (WSW) 464 mstly clr none 19:00 47 13 6 226 (SW) 511 mstly clr none 20:00 43 12 8 216 (SW) 482 ptly cldy none 21:00 42 17 9 190 (S) 505 mstly cldy none 22:00 43 17 12 181 (S) 634 mstly cldy none 23:00 43 20 9 183 (S) 834 mstly cldy none 00:00 42 19 10 181 (S) 928 ptly cldy none 01:00 42 19 14 182 (S) 815 ptly cldy none 02:00 41 20 10 170 (S) 893 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 18 6 185 (S) 932 mstly cldy none 04:00 42 17 10 182 (S) 932 mstly cldy none 05:00 42 20 15 180 (S) 919 mstly cldy none 06:00 42 20 8 172 (S) 835 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
