APOLLO got on sky briefly but got no data between clouds, so I counted the time as lost to weather. The Princeton observer got usable spectra on several objects before clouds became too thick. I closed the dome due to rising winds. Pointing check at NA2: Tertpoint script failed, communications timed out on LTA7. Hub communicating fine with gcam, so I ran na2tilt script. Old tilts: -76, 915. Recommended change: -98, 4. New tilts: -175, 915. After 02:00 the clouds thinned and then cleared. Wind was still near the limit, sometimes over, but I felt safe enough as long as the telescope was pointed away. Seeing was moderate and somewhat variable. Pointing check at NA1: Tertpoint script took successful image, but star was off the FOV so script failed. I ran echtilt script with estimated position. Old tilts: 1025, 1230. Recommended change: 15, -420. New tilts: 1025, 800. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 19:52 APOLLO 35( 892) -76 50 6.6 7.0 6.7 6.9 6.6 1.50 02:41 ECHELLE -170(-1132) 181 79 2.2 2.8 2.9 2.2 2.2 ND3 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 45 5 27 241 (WSW) 1647 mstly cldy none 17:00 46 3 20 218 (SW) 1588 mstly cldy none 18:00 45 4 17 241 (WSW) 1729 mstly cldy none 19:00 45 3 20 256 (WSW) 1507 mstly cldy none 20:00 44 3 14 267 (W) 1741 ptly cldy none 21:00 42 3 27 234 (SW) 1565 ptly cldy none 22:00 42 3 20 231 (SW) 1338 ptly cldy none 23:00 41 4 29 233 (SW) 1232 mstly cldy none 00:00 40 3 16 261 (W) 1188 mstly cldy none 01:00 38 4 28 238 (WSW) 1760 mstly cldy none 02:00 37 6 27 232 (SW) 1570 ptly cldy none 03:00 35 7 29 233 (SW) 1502 ptly cldy none 04:00 34 9 30 241 (WSW) 1656 clear none 05:00 33 11 17 252 (WSW) 1591 clear none 06:00 32 12 21 234 (SW) 1696 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
