The slew command sent for the second comet seemed to put the telescope in a locked up state. The slew window was stuck reporting 0 seconds of the slew left, with axes "slewing" but never arriving. I tried to halt axes from the slew window. No response. I tried to do an axis stop, axis init. Got: 02:23:51 APO.gabrelle 306 KeyDispatcher f Timeout; Actor='tcc'; Cmd='track/stop' 02:30:12 .tcc.0 0 tcc F Modu="axe_i_SchMove"; Text="awakened too late, adjust Tune parameters (or fix bug)" I pushed an E-stop. Still no reaction from axis inits. Logged into tcc35m, did a telstop, telrun. Restarted nubs, reset inst, and inited the axes. I did two large test slews, then let the observer try their slew command again. This time it worked fine(?) This was the command: tcc track 98.95869, 25.88280, -0.0000008467, 0.0000001252 FK5=2000.0/Rotation=0.0/Rottype=Object Rest of the night went smoothly. Good pointing. Clear skies, moderate seeing. All the 3.5m enclosure temps stopped reporting this morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JH05 S T/S 19:19 19:39 SchMove awakened too late ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 18:36 SPICAM 74( 15) 353 58 1.2 1.7 1.2 0.7 1.1 R 1.68 00:23 dis-slit 89(-322) 78 50 -0.9 -0.6 -0.4 -1.3 -0.8 1.58 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 38 0 13 222 (SW) 804 clear none 17:00 36 0 16 243 (WSW) 1117 clear none 18:00 32 -2 17 202 (SSW) 1175 clear none 19:00 34 -8 14 259 (W) 1170 clear none 20:00 32 -4 8 256 (WSW) 1194 clear none 21:00 33 0 11 219 (SW) 1249 clear none 22:00 33 1 10 258 (WSW) 1375 clear none 23:00 31 1 16 207 (SSW) 1400 clear none 00:00 32 4 18 221 (SW) 1135 clear none 01:00 31 6 19 224 (SW) 1141 clear none 02:00 30 6 17 233 (SW) 1141 clear none 03:00 31 0 19 235 (SW) 1201 clear none 04:00 30 -3 19 245 (WSW) 1307 clear none 05:00 29 -3 14 243 (WSW) 1258 clear none 06:00 11 233 (SW) 1198 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
