I ran some checks on the instruments with the 3.5m backup hub tonight. A few instruments would not connect. TSPEC/TSPEC Slitviewer would not work. Echelle Slitviewer would not work (I even rebooted Slitty 2x, no dice). All other instruments (excpt Agile) checked out fine. Fritz stated that he was aware of the TSPEC problems and thought it was a mount problem, but I could not use the instruments at 02:30MST, so I don't know if they need to specifically mount the /export/images directory or it is supposed to automount on its own. Wasn't sure what to do with Agile, do we just need to restart the AgilleICC? Echelle Slitviewer was giving me errors, 'could not open file...' (see log error msg at 09:35:46UT) I also checked some power connections with TSpec to see if I could re-create some array power problems we have been having while moving the instrument. Wiggling the cables didn't seem to do anything (although I couldn't take images due to TUI not talking with TSPEC. Matt wanted me to look at the lights on the Leech controllers but nothing changed when I wiggled the power cables. It was cold with blowing snow, humidity, and windy all night. We may not have been able to open if the telescope was available tonight, so it was a good night to take the telescope down for engineering. ------------- ACTIVITY LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
