Huehnerhoff Clear night with poor seeing. Some trouble with DIS guiding. While using boresight guiding and Horizon+90 the star jumped +x 50 pixels (along slit). This occurred 20 minutes before crossing meridian. During morning checkout the mirror covers would not respond to commands. Similar to the problem Russet was having. The eyelids would open and close but not the covers. I closed the covers manually. Resetting the keyswitch and moving back to auto did not help. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:52 ECHELLE -77(-1453) 237 34 -8.1 -6.5 -7.3 -7.5 -7.4 ND1 1.24 20:09 dis-slit 100( -699) 344 58 -7.8 -8.3 -7.8 -9.0 -8.2 clear 1.84 21:32 ECHELLE -39(-1492) 210 34 -7.0 -8.0 -7.4 -8.2 -7.5 ND1 1.15 01:41 dis-slit 56( -721) 224 53 -7.4 -8.0 -7.4 -8.3 -7.6 clear 1.62 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 19 -5 7 45 (NE) 157 clear none 17:00 18 -6 11 2 (N) 199 clear none 18:00 18 -6 6 59 (ENE) 234 clear none 19:00 18 -4 9 327 (NNW) 213 clear none 20:00 18 -3 13 353 (N) 245 clear none 21:00 18 -1 7 11 (N) 232 clear none 22:00 19 0 8 295 (WNW) 238 clear none 23:00 19 1 8 341 (NNW) 249 mstly clr none 00:00 18 0 10 315 (NW) 204 clear none 01:00 18 1 9 339 (NNW) 197 clear none 02:00 20 2 7 315 (NW) 190 clear none 03:00 19 3 12 334 (NNW) 216 clear none 04:00 18 3 7 307 (NW) 208 clear none 05:00 17 3 12 341 (NNW) 213 clear none 06:00 19 2 14 335 (NNW) 183 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
