Internet was back, but given the uncertainty about the generator some essential computers remained down until mid-afternoon. Utility power came back on around 23:30 MT, but the generator continued running. We had a brief window of an hour or two after sunset when skies were clear and humidity was tolerable, but the telescope and instruments were still not ready at that time. Then humidity spiked and low clouds and fog moved in. The azimuth, altitude, sec, tert, and PMSS all appear to be fine. The NA2 rotator is not working properly; Fritz suspected an opto-22 module might need to be reseated or replaced, and he will check that tomorrow. Most of the instruments and guiders (including fastcam and SH) are working and delivering normal images. The Tspec slitviewer kept me occupied for a while but I eventually got it to behave with some help from Matt Nelson. When it was too late to get help from Fritz, I realized that I had forgotten Agile; nimble did not recover gracefully and needs attention. So one axis (NA2rot) and one instrument (Agile) are still down but the rest look okay. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 27 18 9 219 (SW) 402 clear none 17:00 26 11 8 253 (WSW) 385 clear none 18:00 25 12 10 247 (WSW) 340 clear none 19:00 24 20 12 242 (WSW) 685 clear humid 20:00 25 23 15 237 (WSW) 920 ptly cldy fog 21:00 25 24 14 240 (WSW) 903 ptly cldy fog 22:00 24 23 13 213 (SSW) 986 ptly cldy fog 23:00 24 22 11 219 (SW) 925 ptly cldy fog 00:00 24 22 9 200 (SSW) 958 ptly cldy fog 01:00 24 21 14 226 (SW) 849 ptly cldy fog 02:00 23 22 12 227 (SW) 845 ptly cldy fog 03:00 22 22 12 223 (SW) 707 ptly cldy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
