The Dataq computer seemed locked up with a spinning color pie on the Dataq Mac. Dataq Mac was locked up and had to be hard rebooted (power cycled). Steaking was present in the DIS slit images tonight. Seemed to be aligned iwth the Alt axis. PMSS looked fine and Fritz said it didn't appear to be a problem with Alt/Az drives. I checked NA2 rotator angle (via tape mark) and it was pretty close to spot on. We were at low alt but it was seen at higher altitudes as well. Streaking was in the SW part of the sky. May have been atmospheric refraction as we were pretty low. When we moved up to 70 deg alt in the SE the stars were round again. I didn't see streaking at high altitude during the rest of the night. I didn't see any other signs of streaking the remainder of the night (not at low altitude). DIS blue ion pump had several leds lit again this morning. Maybe halfway from top to tape. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:51 dis-slit -67( -251) 13 51 1.4 4.1 2.6 2.6 4.1 -- 1.14 18:54 NA2gdr 1387(23387) 12 52 1.3 4.0 2.5 2.5 4.1 clear 0.77 18:57 dis-slit -94( -286) 10 52 1.3 3.9 2.4 2.3 2.8 -- 1.16 19:22 dis-slit -15( -212) -49 33 1.5 3.2 2.3 1.7 2.3 -- 1.40 20:36 dis-slit 63( -189) -62 20 1.0 1.6 1.5 0.6 1.2 -- 2.00 20:45 dis-slit 108( -179) -64 35 1.1 1.5 1.5 0.6 1.2 -- 1.50 23:04 dis-slit 13( -372) 70 66 1.1 0.3 0.3 -1.3 -0.0 -- 1.15 23:06 NA2gdr -238(21761) 69 67 1.1 0.3 0.4 -1.2 0.1 R 0.76 02:00 dis-slit 68( -356) 132 49 -0.4 -0.9 -0.8 -2.6 -1.1 -- 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 39 16 8 226 (SW) 981 clear none 17:00 36 14 2 217 (SW) 1156 clear none 18:00 35 14 3 255 (WSW) 1016 clear none 19:00 35 8 3 259 (W) 546 clear none 20:00 35 12 4 257 (WSW) 876 clear none 21:00 34 11 5 256 (WSW) 796 clear none 22:00 33 11 3 208 (SSW) 749 clear none 23:00 33 11 2 216 (SW) 645 clear none 00:00 32 14 5 192 (SSW) 950 clear none 01:00 32 11 4 213 (SSW) 750 clear none 02:00 31 12 7 229 (SW) 804 clear none 03:00 31 15 7 226 (SW) 1174 clear none 04:00 33 10 5 256 (WSW) 766 clear none 05:00 33 10 5 263 (W) 662 clear none 06:00 34 7 6 281 (W) 641 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
