Except for NICFPS trouble during cals the telescope and instruments performed excellently. At UT 22:50 when observer started flats he could not control NICFPS (neither could I). The instrument had successfully taken an image during checkout but was no longer connected. Restarting Nubs was unsuccessful. When looking at the ICS computer it appears the the windows system had tried to update (unknown if this is the cause). Restarting the ICS software solved the problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:56 NICFPS 313( 968) 251 62 9.1 9.2 8.6 8.8 9.1 MK-H 0.98 18:59 NA2gdr -1985(41014) 251 62 9.1 9.2 8.6 8.7 9.0 clear 1.01 22:25 NICFPS 66( 671) 163 44 7.8 7.8 8.0 7.2 7.6 MK-H 1.25 22:27 NA2gdr -2302(40697) 163 44 8.0 7.8 8.0 7.2 7.6 clear 1.57 01:15 dis-slit 109( 103) 323 52 7.8 7.7 8.0 7.4 7.7 clear 1.36 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 50 16 15 274 (W) 657 clear none 17:00 50 18 17 274 (W) 635 clear none 18:00 49 19 21 299 (WNW) 636 clear none 19:00 49 17 16 269 (W) 736 clear none 20:00 48 17 10 269 (W) 665 clear none 21:00 47 18 13 268 (W) 908 clear none 22:00 47 18 11 274 (W) 936 clear none 23:00 47 20 15 326 (NW) 892 mstly clr none 00:00 47 21 18 317 (NW) 432 clear none 01:00 47 22 19 318 (NW) 363 clear none 02:00 46 23 22 311 (NW) 356 clear none 03:00 45 24 15 296 (WNW) 294 mstly clr none 04:00 44 24 13 301 (WNW) 329 mstly clr none 05:00 44 24 9 324 (NW) 418 mstly cldy none 06:00 44 24 5 333 (NNW) 399 mstly cldy none TELESCOPE STATUS Telescope drives operational.
