Apollo pointing seemed to be significantly off. No apparent telescope issues, but they report an unsuccessful run. Rest of the night with DIS pointing was within normal parameters. Seeing was very good for a large chunk of the night. Second half winds and humidity started becoming a problem. Clouds were also forming overhead and then moving out quickly. Stayed open and skirted the humidity limit. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 17:20 APOLLO -75( 714) -16 57 2.3 5.7 4.2 4.2 3.0 1.20 18:34 dis-slit 46(-217) -7 73 2.1 2.8 2.8 2.1 2.2 1.07 22:59 dis-slit 6(-338) 89 66 1.3 1.1 1.5 0.7 1.2 1.24 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 41 3 8 265 (W) 227 mstly clr none 17:00 38 8 12 260 (W) 303 mstly clr none 18:00 36 10 11 239 (WSW) 480 mstly clr none 19:00 35 12 8 242 (WSW) 634 mstly clr none 20:00 36 10 19 265 (W) 488 mstly clr none 21:00 35 20 18 259 (W) 426 mstly clr none 22:00 35 24 24 268 (W) 386 mstly clr none 23:00 34 23 20 269 (W) 328 mstly clr none 00:00 34 23 15 267 (W) 326 mstly clr none 01:00 34 25 17 251 (WSW) 448 mstly clr none 02:00 34 27 17 264 (W) 498 ptly cldy none 03:00 33 25 20 269 (W) 453 ptly cldy none 04:00 33 24 19 271 (W) 477 clear none 05:00 32 26 21 278 (W) 477 clear none 06:00 32 24 17 288 (WNW) 435 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
