It was unresponsive to rotation commands. That fixed the problem. Pointing was pretty decent for TSPEC tonight. I didn't adjust it. It fell about at the B nod position on the slit (instead of the A position, whenre the boresight is). Nancy couldn't find Venus so I check pointing. Results for NA2: (I didn't implement) Xtilt +22 YTilt -39 She then discovered she entered the coords wrong (but I got a pointing check in beforehand). Echelle pointing results (Implemented) XTilt 154 YTilt -239 Pointing check at 00:30 for NA2 (not implemented) Xtilt 46 YTilt -111 No problems tonight other than the rotator problem noted earlier. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:06 TSPEC 43( 198) -99 51 2.2 4.9 3.0 3.3 2.8 Ks 0.80 19:22 ECHELLE -147(-1118) -55 73 1.1 2.7 2.1 1.4 1.6 ND3 0.65 20:57 dis-slit -119( -461) 167 69 0.7 1.2 1.0 0.2 0.7 -- 0.97 20:58 NA2gdr 1196(23196) 168 69 0.8 1.2 0.9 0.0 0.4 R 0.65 00:32 NICFPS -151( 55) 247 61 0.6 0.0 0.2 -1.0 -0.2 J 1.06 00:34 NA2gdr -188(42811) 247 61 0.7 0.1 0.2 -1.0 -0.2 R 1.08 00:39 NICFPS -130( 76) 246 59 0.8 0.0 0.2 -1.2 -0.2 J 0.74 03:11 NICFPS -73( 122) 33 75 0.1 -0.0 0.3 -0.6 0.1 J 0.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 38 12 4 216 (SW) 334 clear none 17:00 37 14 2 198 (SSW) 279 clear none 18:00 35 6 2 214 (SW) 99 clear none 19:00 35 9 4 186 (S) 189 clear none 20:00 34 10 3 189 (S) 208 clear none 21:00 33 10 2 192 (SSW) 237 clear none 22:00 34 11 2 192 (SSW) 546 clear none 23:00 34 11 5 192 (SSW) 818 clear none 00:00 32 10 3 200 (SSW) 502 clear none 01:00 33 9 6 199 (SSW) 496 clear none 02:00 33 7 4 200 (SSW) 354 clear none 03:00 32 11 6 184 (S) 793 clear none 04:00 33 7 3 195 (SSW) 450 clear none 05:00 33 8 4 257 (WSW) 511 clear none 06:00 33 8 3 231 (SW) 512 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
