TripleSpec Aux tank apparently warmed up. No alarms, no warning emails. When the first-half observers took cals they noticed something wrong. Checking the temps revealed the aux tank at about 95K. The transfer dewer is currently not holding pressure and therefore must not have been delivering fills properly. Nick actually had to come up and fashion a temporary funnel to fill it. TSpec will still be mounted for a few days so it is being left on the telescope at rotation 180 so that we don't too much spill LN2. While Nick was here he also got to look at the tertiary. The tertiary has not been moved since the beginning of last night, but tonight it was reporting errors, such as: 04:21:56 .tcc.0 0 tcc F Modu="mir_o_MoveOneGalil"; Text="could not specify new positions for Tert mirror actuators" Nick homed it a few times watching and listening. It finally moved the right way to a good position. Rains slowed by 1am, but we sat in fog or very high humidity the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 56 50 14 95 (E) 717 mstly cldy none 17:00 58 47 15 150 (SSE) 611 mstly cldy none 18:00 55 47 18 122 (ESE) 883 cloudy none 19:00 54 49 13 107 (ESE) 984 cloudy lt rain 20:00 52 50 12 112 (ESE) 724 cloudy rain 21:00 49 49 15 59 (ENE) 947 cloudy rain 22:00 48 48 17 51 (NE) 144 cloudy rain 23:00 47 47 13 86 (E) 358 cloudy rain 00:00 48 45 15 80 (E) 415 cloudy humid 01:00 48 44 14 91 (E) 241 cloudy humid 02:00 47 46 23 72 (ENE) 311 cloudy humid 03:00 47 47 18 65 (ENE) 355 cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
