Slews from TUI worked fine. Agile worked well. The guider hung up perhaps 20 times during first half, which was annoying and did cause some problems -- although the exposures were short, it was important to keep the target in the same place for many exposures, and that was difficult with frequent guider failures. Humidity started to rise around the time of the program changeover. I pushed it so the Virginia team could get some calibration data with the one slit that hasn't been calibrated yet, then closed. During this half hour, tcam hung up three times, so we have now seen this occur on three different guiders (gcam, dcam, tcam). Humidity dropped, so we re-opened and went for some science. This generally went well aside from several more tcam hangups. One of these led to a command collision when the remote observer requested an exposure just as I was restarting the nubs -- I had difficulty getting my Expose button highlighted after that, but eventually got it figured out. Humidity rose above tolerance again before morning twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:53 AGILE -75( 34) 93 62 13.4 16.4 14.4 14.9 13.5 I 0.8 01:31 TSPEC -70( 389) -130 60 10.8 11.3 11.5 10.3 10.5 K 1.1 03:05 TSPEC 28( 486) 31 41 10.6 10.8 11.3 10.1 10.5 K 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 48 9 316 (NW) 1012 ptly cldy none 17:00 62 46 11 316 (NW) 882 ptly cldy none 18:00 62 45 7 268 (W) 869 mstly clr none 19:00 59 45 4 274 (W) 777 mstly clr none 20:00 55 40 4 268 (W) 708 clear none 21:00 55 37 5 268 (W) 763 clear none 22:00 56 36 2 253 (WSW) 730 clear none 23:00 55 42 2 83 (E) 932 clear none 00:00 56 39 1 227 (SW) 819 clear none 01:00 51 47 12 129 (SE) 1167 clear none 02:00 52 46 12 159 (SSE) 1131 clear none 03:00 51 46 7 147 (SSE) 1011 clear none 04:00 50 46 5 163 (SSE) 1175 clear none 05:00 52 47 7 185 (S) 2495 clear humid 06:00 52 48 1 213 (SSW) 3323 clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
