Coughlin Az Velocity Scale was 577.0, measured 577.4, 581.55; 579.5. Changed to 579.0. We had thick clouds in the late afternoon, but they completely cleared out by sunset. Humidity was high, and continued to slowly rise until around 22:30 where it flirted with closure limits. Luckily it leveled off and then fell and we were able to stay open. Just after 05:00 the humidity began to sharply rise and I was forced to close at 05:23 for the remaining 40 minutes of the night. Seeing was poor first half (2"), but settled to around 1" in second half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:32 dis-slit 44( 238) 97 51 9.0 11.8 10.4 10.6 9.2 1.66 21:50 dis-slit 25( 61) 46 41 8.1 8.3 8.5 7.8 8.0 1.90 01:26 SPICAM -73( 142) 5 58 7.8 7.3 7.8 6.5 7.6 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 54 42 6 281 (W) 153 cloudy none 17:00 53 42 0 327 (NNW) 998 mstly cldy none 18:00 52 44 8 92 (E) 1062 ptly cldy none 19:00 50 43 9 85 (E) 1717 mstly clr none 20:00 48 41 17 121 (ESE) 1541 clear none 21:00 47 42 19 112 (ESE) 1604 clear none 22:00 46 42 16 124 (SE) 1483 clear none 23:00 46 40 13 130 (SE) 1314 clear none 00:00 46 39 18 134 (SE) 1237 clear none 01:00 46 38 8 110 (ESE) 1299 clear none 02:00 48 38 1 125 (SE) 1335 clear none 03:00 49 34 1 199 (SSW) 1096 clear none 04:00 48 37 2 198 (SSW) 1238 clear none 05:00 45 39 6 124 (SE) 1308 clear humid 06:00 43 41 5 108 (ESE) 1543 clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
