By 3am humidity was over 95%, so we had to close. PR 868 - Both gcam and dcam tonight had the same guiding issues. Sometime after guiding is going, guiding seems to produce the following warnings in the log: 07:56:16 .tcc.0 0 tcc W Modu="mir_o_MoveOneGalil"; Text="Tert returned an extra message" 07:56:16 .tcc.0 0 tcc W Received="?GOPOS one or more axes did not end on a full step 1, 1, 1, 0, 0" The effect is to "hang" the guiders; that is they stop taking exposures, without stopping guiding or any other signal. The solution I went with was to restart nubs when I saw the warning message and restart guiding every few minutes. No science time is lost to this, but seems like a symptom of something else. Newton's monitor - It was not responding at all to mouse or even buttons on the monitor itself, but displayed patterns of colorful lines. I unplugged it and plugged it back in; seems to be fine now. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20:47 AGILE -250(-257) 38 57 12.4 14.0 13.7 13.1 12.6 B 0.70 01:19 dis-slit -56(103) 19 50 11.2 11.1 11.5 10.5 11.0 1.26 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 61 50 5 91 (E) 774 mstly clr none 17:00 59 50 7 92 (E) 602 mstly clr none 18:00 58 48 9 105 (ESE) 752 mstly clr none 19:00 57 46 18 95 (E) 751 mstly clr none 20:00 55 47 13 84 (E) 834 mstly clr none 21:00 54 48 16 110 (ESE) 977 mstly clr none 22:00 54 50 12 103 (ESE) 1054 mstly clr humid 23:00 53 51 9 88 (E) 1120 mstly clr humid 00:00 53 51 13 81 (E) 1124 mstly clr humid 01:00 52 50 13 90 (E) 1278 mstly clr humid 02:00 52 50 14 99 (E) 1390 mstly clr humid 03:00 51 50 13 85 (E) 1368 mstly clr humid 04:00 51 50 10 87 (E) 1535 ptly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
