High humidity and thick clouds kept us closed until about 23:00.
There had been power fluctuations in the afternoon and this had triggered several
systems. One of which was the enclosure-telescope collision stop switch. I tried
moving the telescope off the enclosure by hand to get it to clear but the green led
lights were not lit on the collision stop switch box. After several attempts to get
it to clear, I tried to cycle power on the amplifier box. I think I didn’t give it
long enough to power down initially and when it didn’t enable the amps I called Mark
who suggested giving it a little longer. Next time I gave it a few minutes in the
off position so that all the lights were off and all sounds had ceased, checked
again that the telescope was not touching the enclosure and then cycled power back
on - this worked.
Once we got on sky and focused we ran all night guiding on the NA2 guider with
AutoFocusRev14 making focus adjustments. Seemed to work very well.
