The observer gave up at 03:30 since they could not get any usuable science with the time left and the skies still were overcast at that time. Within 15 minutes however the skies started to clear. I opened and attempted to do some engineering with fastcam. Aligning the camera proved to be a very difficult one person task. I made no real progress other than learning there is still a major problem with the mechanical design of the mounting fixture. The camera still can not be focused. I will discuss it further with Nick today. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 62 50 2 251 (WSW) 1556 ptly cldy none 17:00 63 44 1 181 (S) 1243 ptly cldy none 18:00 63 45 1 101 (E) 1094 ptly cldy none 19:00 63 49 1 251 (WSW) 1549 ptly cldy none 20:00 61 49 1 92 (E) 1805 cloudy none 21:00 60 47 3 162 (SSE) 1900 cloudy none 22:00 59 47 2 189 (S) 1726 cloudy none 23:00 60 47 8 129 (SE) 1826 cloudy none 00:00 59 48 6 119 (ESE) 1782 cloudy none 01:00 60 45 11 164 (SSE) 1415 mstly cldy none 02:00 59 47 8 183 (S) 1685 mstly cldy lt rain 03:00 58 49 9 177 (S) 1880 mstly cldy none 04:00 56 48 9 128 (SE) 1795 clear none 05:00 55 50 8 106 (ESE) 1898 clear none 06:00 55 49 4 107 (ESE) 1945 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
