Dembicky Az Velocity Scale 577.6, Was 577.0, changed -- Alt Velocity scale -629.3, Was -629.0, changed -- I ran the Alt velocity scale 3 times, with 3 different results. 632.0, 629.3, 630.4. These tests were run sequentially one after the other. We managed to get onsky around 22:45 and stayed open for the remainder of the night, despite near or slightly over humidity closure conditions. We pre-empted EN03 time, with their approval, for Fastcam work at 04:15 tonight. We still were not able to attain proper focus with the focal reducer in the system tonight. Our thoughts, at 6AM, are perhaps the focal reducer is not the correct prescription as Bill ordered. Nick will confirm the actual focal length of the reducer on Monday and compare it to the old focal reducer. We confirmed the focal plane of the telescope being where we expected it and were able to bring the camera to focus w/o the focal reducer to confirm the system was actually working. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:52 NICFPS -157(776) -83 76 15.9 15.0 15.7 14.7 15.2 Ks 0.9 22:57 NA2gdr -1852(43000) -85 75 15.5 15.0 15.7 14.6 15.0 clear 0.81 01:06 APOLLO -150(109) 9 42 14.6 14.5 15.0 13.8 14.4 -- 1.3 02:32 TSpec -54(554) -131 53 15.5 14.2 14.7 13.4 14.3 Ks 1.05 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 57 45 20 29 (NNE) 847 cldy rain 17:00 60 44 22 50 (NE) 881 cldy rain 18:00 57 52 21 67 (ENE) 1251 cldy Lt.
