Dembicky AZ velocity scale measured 584.0, File 580.0, Changed to -- Echelle shield tank ran out of LN2 today due to the echelle-icc going down during the day. We force auto filled the echelle via command line at 16:00 but apparently that didn't fill the shield tank. at 18:20 I manually filled both the shield and ccd. This took about 30 mins for the shield to fill and the temps started dropping during the fill, as expected. Something seemed odd with the NA2 guider, I couldn't seem to find any stars with long (120s) exposures and a clear filter. This occured at several target locations. I found that the gcamera temperature was set at -60C. I reset it back to -25C. That fixed the problem! 00:37 telescope pointing seemed to go way off. I discovered 2 Magnasensor errors (at 59.8 and 44.6 deg). When I slewed to a bright star it cleared them (and I could find a pointing reference star again). I did a Alt MS dump and saw the 2 bad readings. We ran AutoFocusRev12 during 2nd half tonight with no problems. The echelle Shield was still a little warm at -108C at the end of the night. It didn't seem to want to cool any lower. Daystaff should keep an eye on fills and fill times during the day to be sure it is filling properly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:04 DISslit 139(392) 126 84 11.2 13.4 12.7 12.6 11.5 -- 1.32 22:22 DISSlit 63(-406) 105 64 10.1 10.9 11.3 10.0 10.0 -- 1.66 01:06 DISSlit 72(141) 250 45 9.4 9.1 9.6 8.4 9.0 -- 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 60 9 31 252 (WSW) 7392 clear dust 17:00 58 2 27 279 (W) 7858 clear dust 18:00 59 4 22 257 (WSW) 5125 clear dust 19:00 58 2 18 286 (WNW) 3314 clear dust 20:00 55 0 14 267 (W) 2486 clear none 21:00 53 -1 16 271 (W) 2830 clear none 22:00 52 0 20 249 (WSW) 2428 clear none 23:00 50 2 5 279 (W) 2529 clear none 00:00 50 22 8 356 (N) 621 clear none 01:00 49 24 17 29 (NNE) 246 clear none 02:00 48 23 12 16 (NNE) 496 clear none 03:00 50 18 5 347 (NNW) 2340 clear none 04:00 49 24 9 350 (N) 803 clear none 05:00 47 25 9 19 (NNE) 707 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
