Dembicky Az Velicity Scale measured 580.7 was 587.4 changed to 581.0 Alt Velocity Scale measured -634.3 was -635.4 no change I checked pointing of the telescope with Saturn and Regulus. Both were spot on with SPIcam. Worked on Fastcam and found out that there was a measurement wrong for the port that was being used. Nick will have to machine an adapter so no Fastcam alignment or data could be completed tonight. We then took Shack-Hartman Data to Russet did echelle tests and everything looked good. Pumping definately did help. Wind changed direction and around 00:30 the wind really picked up (over closure limits). Dust counts also went high and smoke could be smelled around the site. There are several fires burning in the Lincoln National Forest and the wind was blowing smoke from one or more of the in our direction. Humitidy also went over the limits as well. We never re-opened and I closed up around 04:00 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:48 S-H -250(1121) -61 60 18.9 19.7 19.9 18.3 18.8 -- 1.3 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 79 25 14 268 (W) 613 clear none 19:00 75 21 11 270 (W) 621 clear none 20:00 71 18 5 254 (WSW) 662 clear none 21:00 69 17 4 301 (WNW) 667 clear none 22:00 70 17 0 290 (WNW) 712 clear none 23:00 68 16 4 200 (SSW) 899 clear none 00:00 66 18 11 108 (ESE) 1201 clear smoke 01:00 55 42 32 72 (ENE) 23454 clear smoke 02:00 52 50 24 76 (ENE) 18214 clear smoke 03:00 52 49 25 66 (ENE) 13045 clear smoke 04:00 50 49 24 62 (ENE) 11918 clear smoke Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
