Storms and radar returns all around us but mostly clear skies here. I kept a close eye on radar and the cloud camera tonight however even with some elevated dust levels most of the night we stayed open. The Apollo folks had some trouble with one of their main instrument control comuters going down during the day. Fritz and Jon were able to swap to a new machine but only some of the functionality. Even though Russet was flying blind (no video stream) the run was very successful with returns from 3 reflectors and multiple cycles. The rest of the night went well. No troubles with Nicfps. One of the observers lost internet locally for an hour but the other observer quickly took over. The echelle continues to run a few degrees warmer than its temperature set point. No problems the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20:18 APOLLO 0( 1540) -32 69 20.4 21.2 21.4 20.4 20.4 -- 1.25 21:14 APOLLO 25( 1547) -42 47 20.4 20.4 20.8 20.0 20.2 -- 1.25 22:44 NICFPS -54( 1121) -82 77 19.7 19.9 20.3 19.6 19.6 Ks 0.67 22:46 NA2gdr -2804(40195) -82 77 19.6 19.9 20.3 19.5 19.5 Ks 0.77 00:15 NICFPS -148( 994) 91 48 18.7 18.8 19.3 17.9 18.5 H2r-2.13 0.93 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 74 37 16 269 (W) 3001 clear dust 17:00 76 28 32 238 (WSW) 2222 clear dust 18:00 74 25 33 217 (SW) 1655 clear none 19:00 72 20 27 224 (SW) 1746 clear none 20:00 69 21 11 262 (W) 1714 clear none 21:00 69 20 18 232 (SW) 2207 mstly clr dust 22:00 69 22 19 221 (SW) 2246 mstly clr dust 23:00 66 23 18 242 (WSW) 2339 ptly cldy dust 00:00 65 22 15 260 (W) 2536 ptly cldy dust 01:00 63 30 16 201 (SSW) 2788 clear dust 02:00 62 28 13 241 (WSW) 3196 clear dust 03:00 63 22 15 265 (W) 2801 clear dust 04:00 63 21 18 268 (W) 2589 clear dust 05:00 61 20 15 261 (W) 2665 clear dust 06:00 60 22 19 264 (W) 2562 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
