Second half I was running the Autofocus script and we were seeing trailing stars during dithers. Quick running the guider and the trailing disappeared except for one image (see PR/825) which showed trailing in the altitude direction. Apollo had equipment problems that prevented the laser leaving the instrument. Russet will attempt to troubleshoot this weekend. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD01 A I/H 04:24 04:54 Laser blockage in UTAH box ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20:40 dis-slit -104(399) 233 70 16.5 18.4 18.2 17.2 16.6 -- 1.36 22:52 dis-slit 27(412) 253 66 15.9 16.0 16.5 15.3 15.8 -- 0.93 01:34 NICFPS -50(888) 254 61 15.2 15.0 15.4 14.4 14.9 Ks 0.55 01:36 NA2gdr -2779(40220) 254 61 15.1 15.0 15.4 14.4 14.9 clear 0.66 04:30 APOLLO -25( 1134) -5 66 13.3 13.4 13.8 12.8 13.2 -- 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 70 38 19 212 (SSW) 2520 mstly clr none 17:00 71 32 23 209 (SSW) 1973 mstly clr none 18:00 71 25 32 237 (WSW) 1639 mstly clr none 19:00 68 17 20 217 (SW) 1358 mstly clr none 20:00 62 14 19 234 (SW) 1105 mstly clr none 21:00 62 7 14 253 (WSW) 1184 ptly cldy none 22:00 62 6 17 265 (W) 1251 mstly clr none 23:00 60 4 18 258 (WSW) 1081 mstly clr none 00:00 60 5 11 267 (W) 1093 mstly clr none 01:00 59 8 14 267 (W) 1068 mstly clr none 02:00 58 9 12 264 (W) 1086 clear none 03:00 57 9 11 269 (W) 1032 clear none 04:00 57 11 15 292 (WNW) 1340 clear none 05:00 56 11 14 296 (WNW) 1242 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
