Unfortunately we didn't have a backup of the TINST directory (or I should say the backup files were out of date). We lost the TSpec instrument block but I think I was able to recover a lot of information from the last time we ran the instrument block. The UVa folks did some rotation/slit move tests, while we were closed. I had to redo the instrument block, using the parameter I had from the previous instrument block (which I found weren't all that good to use). Of course as soon as I got the instrument block done it completely clouded over on me! I think the focus on the new instrument block is OK, but it should be checked (we had too many clouds and the telescope out of temperature equilibrium for me to determine). The instrument block was a quick and dirty one but seemed to move the objects in the correct direction and amount so it is most likely usable if we can't recover the old one. We also had a gmech error all night (but since we weren't on the sky and didn't need the NA2 guider I didn't try to fix it, but it should be looked into during the day). I did try a startNubs gmech but that didn't fix it. No usable science tonight, dust and wind, then clouds when we finally could open (after I got the instrument block). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 65 17 28 249 (WSW) 24224 clear dust 19:00 63 14 29 241 (WSW) 33747 clear dust 20:00 59 14 32 239 (WSW) 35922 clear dust 21:00 57 15 20 245 (WSW) 23975 clear dust 22:00 55 18 29 236 (SW) 27621 clear dust 23:00 53 21 18 260 (W) 11020 clear dust 00:00 52 23 22 257 (WSW) 9490 clear dust 01:00 49 22 25 239 (WSW) 7686 clear dust 02:00 47 25 28 240 (WSW) 6493 clear dust 03:00 45 29 19 264 (W) 4217 pt. cldy dust 04:00 44 29 14 261 (W) 4440 cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
