Dembicky, R.McMillan Zero'ed rotator, off by -0.498 AZ velocity scale measured 579.9, File 574.0, Changed to 580.0 (20:50) ALT velocity scale measured -634.5, File -636.0, Changed -- Autofocus comments: We do have some evidence that the guider vs. inst focus diff changes when telex fan state changes. Since we usually try not to change telex fans states during observing this shouldn't be a show stopper but if we do need to change state (dust, etc) then we need to be aware to not rely on autofocus in this case. 07:33:43 Alt/Az drives stopped for no apparent reason (time ran out on an interpolated move, Russet looked up the error code) I ran some more tests on the autofocus script (turn fans on/off, move focus and see if sec. autofocus moves back to optimal focus. This test also confirmed that autofocus was moving us to (near) best focus values). I then ran an 80 point pointing model and implemented the new model. I then did several tertiary rotations to look for problems seen this past weekend. Didn't see any problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:08 SPIcam 222(985) 52 71 17.1 18.8 18.4 17.7 17.2 I 1.10 21:24 SPIcam 206(955) 42 74 16.9 18.4 18.3 17.1 17.1 I 0.89 21:34 NA2gdr -396(30000) 34 75 16.9 18.3 18.3 16.9 17.0 clear 1.05 11:25 S-H -225(1016) -56 60 17.8 17.1 17.5 15.9 16.9 -- 1.0 00:46 SPIcam -92(574) 26 76 17.4 16.7 17.1 15.5 16.9 I 0.71 00:51 NA2gdr -74(30000) 21 76 17.2 16.7 17.1 15.5 16.8 clear 0.78 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 68 20 14 304 (NW) 1548 lt. cirrus none 19:00 67 19 5 270 (W) 1495 lt. cirrus none 20:00 64 15 6 341 (NNW) 1256 lt. cirrus none 21:00 63 16 2 0 (N) 1214 lt. cirrus none 22:00 60 15 6 5 (N) 1154 lt. cirrus none 23:00 63 15 9 11 (N) 1257 lt. cirrus none 00:00 64 16 11 57 (ENE) 1289 lt. cirrus none 01:00 63 16 1 240 (WSW) 1200 lt. cirrus none 02:00 63 15 4 189 (S) 1234 lt. cirrus none 03:00 62 15 3 201 (SSW) 1447 lt. cirrus none 04:00 62 18 2 219 (SW) 1622 lt. cirrus none 05:00 62 15 1 231 (SW) 1283 lt. cirrus none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
