Several waves of thin clouds passed through and we closed briefly for a humidity spike. Seeing was good (but not quite stable) with NIC-FPS, poor with APOLLO at rather high airmass. When I tried to focus the guider, the gmech piston was far out of position and in trying to correct that I managed to render the gmech completely incommunicado. This wasn't critical since guiding wasn't needed with NIC-FPS, but I had hoped to run the autofocus script. During the move to APOLLO, the tertiary failed with a CHKMV error indicating that it had fallen too far behind its target position. After I homed the mirror it behaved well; only a couple of minutes of time were lost. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21:58 NICFPS -91( 354) -73 51 3.5 4.7 4.8 3.7 3.5 H 0.84 00:15 APOLLO 0( 694) -42 31 3.1 3.0 3.3 2.0 2.6 - 2.00 01:08 NICFPS 2( 361) 229 57 4.0 3.1 3.6 2.5 3.4 J 0.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 41 33 10 76 (ENE) 798 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 42 32 13 75 (ENE) 738 mstly cldy none 18:00 41 31 14 53 (NE) 590 mstly cldy none 19:00 40 30 14 57 (ENE) 602 mstly cldy none 20:00 39 30 18 66 (ENE) 781 mstly cldy none 21:00 39 30 9 54 (NE) 776 mstly cldy none 22:00 38 28 13 61 (ENE) 827 ptly cldy none 23:00 38 26 9 76 (ENE) 908 mstly clr none 00:00 38 27 9 77 (ENE) 959 ptly cldy none 01:00 38 24 4 56 (NE) 927 mstly clr none 02:00 39 23 11 30 (NNE) 1052 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 23 12 21 (NNE) 1060 ptly cldy none 04:00 37 32 11 12 (NNE) 964 mstly clr none 05:00 37 31 12 15 (NNE) 930 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
