Dembicky Clouds moved in from the East around 23:30 and never left us for the remainder of the night. The wind also picked up around 00:30 for about an hour or so. Dust levels were elevated all night (3500-4500 cts) although I was open for the first half of the night as the dust levels seemed stable enough to open. Louvers were closed all night and only press fans were turned on. The satellite looked promising for clear skies but the clouds didn't seem to go away and stayed overtop of us all 2nd half. My observer called it a night at 03:45, as she needed at least 2hrs to get anything useful and we still had localized clouds overhead. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:36 SPIcam 157(482) 32 53 7.8 9.6 9.9 8.8 8.1 R 0.9 20:41 NA2gdr 30000(86) 29 53 7.9 9.4 9.8 8.6 8.1 clear 1.4 22:02 SPIcam 350(589) -164 57 7.5 8.0 9.2 7.3 7.6 R 1.3 22:21 NA2gdr 30000(-2290) -161 56 6.9 7.7 9.0 6.9 7.2 clear 1.6 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 54 12 18 223 (SW) 2729 clear none 17:00 52 17 20 205 (SSW) 2850 clear none 18:00 51 17 23 246 (WSW) 3396 clear dust 19:00 47 17 23 206 (SSW) 4505 clear dust 20:00 46 18 18 204 (SSW) 4179 clear dust 21:00 46 17 20 181 (S) 3847 clear dust 22:00 46 18 18 156 (SSE) 3798 clear dust 23:00 46 17 23 171 (S) 3731 cldy dust 00:00 47 18 27 196 (SSW) 3670 cldy dust 01:00 45 19 28 179 (S) 3799 cldy dust 02:00 44 20 25 199 (SSW) 3705 cldy dust 03:00 43 20 23 195 (SSW) 3433 cldy dust 04:00 41 20 22 211 (SSW) 3463 pt. cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
