Dembicky High dust, windy and clouds at the start of the night kept us closed. The wind died down, a little, but the clouds and dust remained high (spiking over 11K at one point) which kept us closed. Dust was still around 4100 cts at 01:30 but it seemed to be stable and I decided it was safe to open. With no fans running the primary stayed above ambient and the focus drifted considerably during the first hour or so. I was able to adjust focus on the fly so no time was lost in focusing after the initial focus of the telescope. Outside dust levels stayed between 3000-4000 cts for all of 2nd half, inside levels were around 1700cts with the fans off (press on) and louvers closed all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:54 AGILE 16(-420) 172 75 4.1 5.5 7.9 4.6 4.3 BG40 0.7 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:00 49 17 19 242 (WSW) 3723 cldy dust 18:00 49 18 21 247 (WSW) 4902 cldy dust 19:00 49 18 18 263 (W) 4985 cldy dust 20:00 46 18 18 264 (W) 4115 cldy dust 21:00 45 17 20 267 (W) 9098 cldy dust 22:00 44 13 12 243 (WSW) 5565 cldy dust 23:00 43 13 25 267 (W) 4888 clear dust 00:00 41 12 20 278 (W) 4461 clear dust 01:00 40 11 13 281 (W) 4384 clear dust 02:00 39 9 11 301 (WNW) 3772 clear dust 03:00 40 6 15 10 (N) 3745 clear dust 04:00 39 5 9 10 (N) 3258 clear dust 05:00 38 9 14 5 (N) 3601 clear dust 06:00 38 8 12 344 (NNW) 3703 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
