At 20:00 the site name server went down and all on and offsite communications went down. Fritz was able to get it started again but we had problems much of the rest of the night with the cloud camera, weather information webservices and other critical tools all while weather was very borderline. At 21:10 we experienced a major dust event where the 1.0 micron dust counts spiked to > 13K I was able to close quickly but the mirrors will need to be CO2 cleaned during the day. Clouds again prevented us from collecting any useful data from 23:00 until about 00:30 when the skies cleared for the remainder of the night. The observer ran out of targets at 05:00 and gave up for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW01 D T/S 20:00 20:30 Name Server Failed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:20 dis-slit 288( 192) -118 65 4.8 6.2 7.5 5.4 5.0 -- 1.88 19:23 NA2gdr 1031(23031) -118 64 4.8 6.0 7.4 5.3 5.0 R+nd2 1.41 21:33 dis-slit -173(-382) 89 68 2.6 3.9 4.6 3.4 2.8 -- 1.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 46 4 23 278 (W) 3996 clear dust 17:00 50 7 23 252 (WSW) 2988 clear dust 18:00 48 3 29 254 (WSW) 3078 clear dust 19:00 44 1 30 244 (WSW) 3042 clear dust 20:00 41 1 18 266 (W) 2358 ptly cldy dust 21:00 40 2 9 340 (NNW) 2099 cloudy none 22:00 37 17 13 9 (N) 2469 cloudy dust 23:00 37 17 11 26 (NNE) 1463 cloudy none 00:00 36 15 12 32 (NNE) 1516 ptly cldy none 01:00 36 15 16 15 (NNE) 1565 clear none 02:00 35 17 22 36 (NE) 1652 clear none 03:00 34 18 18 43 (NE) 1714 clear none 04:00 34 17 17 61 (ENE) 2089 clear none 05:00 34 16 13 13 (NNE) 1988 clear none 06:00 33 18 11 53 (NE) 2153 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
