Dembicky AZ velocity scale measured 591.5, File 589.0 Alt velocity scal measured -636.3, File -638.0 FYI Bill, the comment line in the AltVelocityScale script says it's the Az (not Alt) velocity scale. The rest of the script is correct for the alt. Dust kept us closed all night. UW ran some slitview image speed test on tcam. I ran some dome closed tracking test to watch the dataq for signs of "slippage". Can you say watch paint dry? Watching for slippage I saw it at the following times runnning dome closed and tracking an object. Telescope Az 22.9 Alt 72.1 (boresight guiding on) 06:08:29 (plus or minus 30 sec) - small but definately looked like a slip Telescope Az 13.1 Alt 72.7 (boresight guiding on) 06:21:55 big slip, time +/-2sec Telescope 11.2(?) 72.7(?) (no guider running) HA -0:13 (ish) Dec 15:45 6:23:45 squiggle 06:32:45 Az 4.6 Alt 73 HA -0:05:26 Dec +15:45:18 Slip (no guiding) Russet saw some error flag trip when the larger slips did occur. She felt it was probably more hardware than software related. With the dust levels over 9000 cts my observers gave up at 04:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 59 15 19 254 (WSW) 5221 clear dust 17:00 58 13 34 248 (WSW) 5249 clear dust 18:00 57 12 33 255 (WSW) 6509 clear dust 19:00 55 10 23 267 (W) 6922 clear dust 20:00 51 7 20 259 (W) 7114 clear dust 21:00 50 6 23 269 (W) 6349 clear dust 22:00 48 7 22 275 (W) 6668 clear dust 23:00 48 8 18 286 (WNW) 6250 clear dust 00:00 46 6 13 282 (WNW) 7330 clear dust 01:00 46 5 18 286 (WNW) 6995 clear dust 02:00 44 6 19 302 (WNW) 7129 clear dust 03:00 42 7 12 316 (NW) 8786 clear dust 04:00 41 10 11 322 (NW) 9649 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
