Coughlin [Narrative added by Russet McMillan, backup obs-spec] Medium-to-heavy clouds posed a problem throughout first half, but the observers tried to work through the clouds for a few hours anyway. The tertiary failed the move to APOLLO and needed to be homed; the reported position was nearly 180 degrees from the actual position. No time was lost since the clouds were too thick to work through. After switching to echelle, the pointing was significantly off (more than the FOV) and needed to be corrected. A power outage at 04:15 triggered a telescope/dome collision interlock. The generator provided power for an hour with a few minor flickers; transition back to utility power was smooth. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JH06 E T/H 04:16 04:52 power outage, tel/dome collision ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:59 ECHELLE -74( -704) 26 56 9.2 9.4 9.8 8.9 9.1 0.95 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 63 17 20 231 (SW) 2996 ptly cldy none 17:00 59 13 16 238 (WSW) 2381 mstly cldy none 18:00 55 9 20 206 (SSW) 2841 mstly cldy none 19:00 53 7 16 241 (WSW) 2978 mstly cldy none 20:00 53 6 15 205 (SSW) 2425 mstly cldy none 21:00 52 6 17 216 (SW) 2348 mstly cldy none 22:00 52 6 21 221 (SW) 2661 cloudy none 23:00 51 5 16 238 (WSW) 2642 cloudy none 00:00 50 2 23 246 (WSW) 2464 cloudy none 01:00 49 4 23 234 (SW) 2196 mstly cldy none 02:00 48 13 22 208 (SSW) 2102 ptly cldy none 03:00 46 18 30 229 (SW) 1936 ptly cldy none 04:00 44 16 18 230 (SW) 2095 ptly cldy none 05:00 42 17 24 241 (WSW) 1550 ptly cldy none 06:00 41 14 16 242 (WSW) 1252 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
