Nicfps started reporting all 0's in the middle of a long dither pattern. About 30 minutes of data was lost before the observer caught it. I was busy at the time troubleshooting the echelle which had started to warm inadvertantly. Both problems were corrected. I reset nicfps with an expose init and I forced a fill sequence on the echelle. No other troubles tonight. Seeing was moderate to poor in the NIR at 1.1 - 1.3 arcseconds but still a far cry from the >2 arcsecond measurements the 2.5m observers were seeing next door. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU04 N I/H 00:45 01:15 Nicfps returned all zeros ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:05 NICFPS -175( 33) 35 73 -1.8 0.1 0.3 -0.8 -1.2 Ks 0.94 19:10 NA2gdr -2106(40894) 31 73 -1.6 0.1 0.2 -0.9 -1.2 R+nd2 1.12 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 31 11 20 331 (NNW) 2601 clear dust 17:00 31 10 16 337 (NNW) 2396 clear dust 18:00 32 8 29 335 (NNW) 2420 clear dust 19:00 31 7 8 303 (WNW) 2400 clear dust 20:00 29 9 9 360 (N) 2733 clear dust 21:00 29 7 10 0 (N) 2313 clear dust 22:00 30 4 7 358 (N) 2398 clear dust 23:00 31 2 13 335 (NNW) 2605 clear dust 00:00 32 0 12 338 (NNW) 3194 clear dust 01:00 31 2 14 307 (NW) 2678 clear dust 02:00 31 1 17 300 (WNW) 2970 clear dust 03:00 30 5 12 282 (WNW) 2323 clear dust 04:00 30 4 16 309 (NW) 2525 clear dust 05:00 29 4 13 315 (NW) 2382 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
