APOLLO had good success in two runs. Everything mostly worked fine, except for a hiccup with NIC-FPS. The instrument started returning images that were all zeroes, and it took a few minutes to catch up to the problem since the observer and I were only spot-checking images. "nicfps expose init" was not sufficient, but restarting the ICS cleared up the problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW10 N I/S 22:40 22:58 NICFPS needed reset ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:00 NICFPS 100( 497) 78 45 3.5 3.5 3.7 2.8 2.9 H 2.50 00:21 dis-slit -17( -165) 249 33 4.5 4.2 4.7 3.2 4.2 - 2.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 48 13 8 268 (W) 1358 clear none 17:00 47 13 7 275 (W) 1303 clear none 18:00 48 15 7 232 (SW) 1282 clear none 19:00 43 13 3 252 (WSW) 1280 clear none 20:00 38 14 11 128 (SE) 1300 clear none 21:00 38 15 16 109 (ESE) 1373 clear none 22:00 40 9 1 138 (SE) 1278 clear none 23:00 43 6 3 128 (SE) 1187 clear none 00:00 44 4 1 157 (SSE) 997 clear none 01:00 41 4 10 131 (SE) 1085 clear none 02:00 37 2 6 123 (ESE) 1071 clear none 03:00 39 0 10 157 (SSE) 1127 clear none 04:00 39 2 7 175 (S) 839 clear none 05:00 38 1 6 156 (SSE) 914 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
