The unusual coma seen on the slitviewer images appear to be instrumental. In the next few days we should be able to confirm this with the use of other instruments at NA2. Out of focus images with the NA2 guider look normal. The collimation adjustment last night did appear to be useful. There was some strange behavior with the dcam actor tonight. It would hang every half a dozen images and require a forced restart. Sometime the middle of second half it started to behave properly. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:52 dis-slit -90( -352) 43 67 0.1 0.8 0.6 0.3 0.1 -- 1.52 19:03 NA2gdr 1228(23228) 37 69 0.0 0.6 0.5 0.1 0.1 R+nd2 1.04 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 33 0 9 217 (SW) 1375 cloudy none 17:00 32 0 10 184 (S) 1609 mstly cldy none 18:00 33 0 11 183 (S) 1685 ptly cldy none 19:00 32 -4 17 219 (SW) 1847 mstly cldy none 20:00 33 -7 15 267 (W) 1648 ptly cldy none 21:00 32 -3 11 259 (W) 1711 mstly cldy none 22:00 32 -3 12 242 (WSW) 1612 mstly clr none 23:00 32 -2 2 213 (SSW) 1606 mstly clr none 00:00 31 -2 8 224 (SW) 1415 clear none 01:00* 32 -1 1 185 (S) 1301 clear none 03:00 31 -1 7 178 (S) 1450 clear none 04:00 30 -1 11 173 (S) 1632 clear none 05:00 30 0 13 178 (S) 1605 mstly cldy none 06:00 29 0 9 165 (SSE) 1571 ptly cldy none * Daylight savings time change Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
