Dembicky I was getting some strange artifacts on the stars in the NA2 guider (vertical streaks above/below the star, like it was saturating). See guider images 25-31. This was with a N R+ND2 filter in (the star was pretty bright in R and clear). WIth a 10s exp the star wasn't saturating but I was still seeing the vertical lines. Image 31 shows this with the Star is 199, 162 and the "ghost" streak can be seen in this exposure at 196, 101. We had a clearing around 00:30 and opened for about 2 hrs before clouds moved in on us again. I did an axis init at 11:20:28 and apparently the Rotator did not initialize correctly (maybe I didn't wait long enough???). I was able to slew the telescope in alt/az but the rotator showed a stop switch in place yet. I did see a warning about RotD=1.0 (not RotDTime, which was 0.1). The rot command came thru at 11:20:40, which maybe was too short of a time? An axis stop and init cleared the problem. We gave up at 04:15, as clouds were covering us and the humidity was near the closure limit now. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SAEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:46 DISSlit -276(-584) 20 77 -1.4 -0.1 -0.1 -0.4 -1.2 -- 1.45 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 38 0 17 204 (SSW) 1569 cldy none 17:00 38 4 20 267 (W) 2199 cldy none 18:00 36 2 26 267 (W) 1841 cldy none 19:00 36 3 18 247 (WSW) 1851 cldy none 20:00 35 3 16 268 (W) 1711 cldy none 21:00 35 4 16 271 (W) 1449 cldy none 22:00 33 5 16 272 (W) 1534 cldy none 23:00 30 8 10 354 (N) 2334 cldy none 00:00 31 5 6 265 (W) 1675 mst. cldy none 01:00 29 6 11 259 (W) 1838 Pt.
