At instrument check-out nicfps was reading all 65k counts, but this was fixed with a nicfps expose init. DIS slitviewer hung up 5-6 times and was fixed each time with a hub startNubs dcam. Clouds rolled in around 9:30pm and stayed until 2am. During the down time we created a new DIS slit mask and observers took calibrations. After the clouds cleared, relatively high winds and poor seeing persisted until morning, but we remained open and observations were taken. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:43 dis-slit 30( 258) 124 36 8.1 10.0 9.3 8.6 8.2 - 1.30 20:48 dis-slit 6( 117) 120 51 8.2 8.1 8.4 7.3 8.0 - 1.05 02:13 dis-slit -44( -66) -26 38 4.4 5.0 5.6 4.6 4.5 - 2.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 54 20 24 195 (SSW) 1587 clear none 17:00 51 20 24 224 (SW) 1628 clear none 18:00 48 19 17 203 (SSW) 1895 mstly clr none 19:00 46 19 15 185 (S) 2084 clear none 20:00 46 19 15 198 (SSW) 2159 clear none 21:00 47 18 21 188 (S) 2093 ptly cldy none 22:00 47 22 22 180 (S) 2526 mstly cldy none 23:00 46 22 20 198 (SSW) 2139 cloudy none 00:00 44 19 18 246 (WSW) 1949 cloudy none 01:00 42 19 17 265 (W) 1671 cloudy none 02:00 41 19 21 265 (W) 1562 mstly clr none 03:00 39 19 37 258 (WSW) 1632 clear none 04:00 37 18 31 252 (WSW) 1419 clear none 05:00 35 18 36 250 (WSW) 1532 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
