At the beginning of the night, NA2 guider images no matter what gcam focus value are elongated in the "X" direction. There is also a darker column on the right. I tried every combination of restarting gcam and gmech I could think of (init, remap, nubs, power-cycling). I wasn’t sure if it was the camera imaging or the filter wheel positioning, or what. Fritz logged on and suggested binning. Although several other things happened in between, I think binning other than 1x1 causes the elongation. No real time was lost since we continued the whole time and the science exposures were short enough not to really need guiding. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:02 SPICAM 179( 362) 121 65 3.8 6.8 6.6 5.1 4.3 1.52 21:08 SPICAM 20( 127) 157 71 4.8 5.2 5.7 4.3 4.9 0.80 00:25 dis-slit -38( -56) 311 52 6.2 5.5 5.9 4.5 5.7 1.34 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 57 14 14 209 (SSW) 547 clear none 17:00 51 8 9 233 (SW) 425 clear none 18:00 43 17 9 85 (E) 1411 clear none 19:00 39 18 11 80 (E) 1928 clear none 20:00 42 14 6 110 (ESE) 1565 clear none 21:00 40 14 9 95 (E) 1502 clear none 22:00 44 10 3 133 (SE) 1109 clear none 23:00 45 9 5 199 (SSW) 929 clear none 00:00 44 9 6 196 (SSW) 902 clear none 01:00 43 11 9 180 (S) 984 clear none 02:00 42 11 8 175 (S) 996 clear none 03:00 42 11 7 185 (S) 1177 clear none 04:00 42 12 6 181 (S) 1280 clear none 05:00 42 12 7 185 (S) 1306 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
