Dembicky Fritz restarted the hub this afternoon (I really wissh you CS guys would tell told us when you do this from now on). Nothing was connected to the hub so I had to restart a bunch of things. The tlamps didn't come back and that took a call to Fritz to recite some magic words to the computer gods that only CS guys can do (ie. I tried the same thing and it didn't work for me, go figure!). NICFPS had problems connecting to the NFS during checkout too. I zero'ed the rotator at the start of the night. It was off by 0.134 deg. I saw a couple of motor velocity too large errors on the az and alt axis during my test slews tonight. I took some (not a large data set) DIS focus vs. gmech focus data. Still need more, wider range of temps/focus changes. 20:30 Had trouble getting Fastcam StreamPix program to connect to the camera (called Bill). Bill was going to log in remotely and check out the problem with StreamPix. Collected FASTCAM data for Bill the remainder of the night (we ran into several stumbling blocks so more data tommorow night I am sure would be helpful too). The wind was pretty calm tonight with only about 6MPH gusts. Most all the data for tonight (8 stars total for two complete sets of 0, 45, 90, and 180 from wind) were taken near 60 deg alt. I have a pretty good routine now to collect the data, now that we have figured out the glitches in the software, for tommorow night. When I handed the telescope over to the 2nd half observer (from FASTCAM to DIS) when she initially slewed the rotator gave and error, then cleared it and started rotating. No problems 2nd half. Zero'ed rotator at end of night.
