Had to reset the drive motors. Seeing was excellent around midnight when we focused with SPIcam (0.55 arc sec with a narrow band filter). Seeing went south bad as a cold front came in around 02:30 with seeing in the 3-4 arc sec range. No problems tonight other than having to reset the drive motors. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:53 TSPEC 50( 358) 29 56 7.0 8.2 7.1 7.1 6.7 Ks 0.80 23:12 ECHELLE -205( -994) 3 58 7.2 6.2 6.8 5.2 6.6 Clear 0.86 00:31 SPICAM -192( -32) -30 53 6.6 6.1 6.4 4.9 6.1 657/2.5 0.55 00:33 NA2gdr -21(29978) -31 53 6.6 6.1 6.4 4.9 6.0 clear 0.82 01:41 dis-slit -143( -238) -10 57 6.7 6.0 6.6 5.5 6.4 -- 1.10 01:44 NA2gdr 2295(24295) -11 56 6.8 6.1 6.7 5.6 6.4 clear 0.90 04:04 dis-slit -45( -418) 182 80 -0.7 0.6 0.4 -0.3 -0.2 -- 3.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 47 4 12 359 (N) 60 clear none 17:00 45 4 1 272 (W) 39 clear none 18:00 45 3 21 21 (NNE) 70 clear none 19:00 45 1 19 37 (NE) 104 clear none 20:00 45 6 15 68 (ENE) 143 clear none 21:00 45 5 11 15 (NNE) 222 clear none 22:00 44 7 16 25 (NNE) 149 clear none 23:00 45 5 13 44 (NE) 90 clear none 00:00 44 1 14 69 (ENE) 87 clear none 01:00 44 7 6 94 (E) 63 clear none 02:00 44 6 6 185 (S) 104 clear none 03:00 32 11 15 77 (ENE) 150 clear none 04:00 30 13 9 84 (E) 588 clear none 05:00 40 8 5 185 (S) 175 clear none 06:00 37 8 3 153 (SSE) 114 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
