Coughlin Az Velocity Scale was 580.0, measured 582.1, 580.9; 581.5. Changed to 581.0. DIS blue ion pump is running very high. At checkout, upon attempting a test slew, the dome failed to move and there was a telescope-dome collision. Problem was tracked to loss of power this morning, and problem was fixed by turning off dome control power, waiting one minute, then turning power back on. The sky was completely opaque for the entirety of the night, so we never opened despite being just under closure conditions for first half. Second half humidity rose and stayed above closure conditions. Some snow by 4am. We called it a night at 4:15am. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 33 25 18 293 (WNW) 5153 cloudy dust 17:00 32 25 30 270 (W) 2982 mstly cldy dust 18:00 31 24 21 266 (W) 2035 cloudy none 19:00 31 25 19 268 (W) 1756 cloudy none 20:00 30 25 21 270 (W) 1664 cloudy none 21:00 30 25 19 267 (W) 1559 cloudy none 22:00 30 25 21 267 (W) 1693 cloudy none 23:00 29 25 11 263 (W) 1736 cloudy none 00:00 30 26 15 244 (WSW) 1627 cloudy none 01:00 29 26 17 254 (WSW) 1734 cloudy none 02:00 29 28 14 255 (WSW) 1807 cloudy humid 03:00 30 29 21 212 (SSW) 1497 cloudy humid 04:00 30 30 18 254 (WSW) 1265 cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
