Not rotation test tonight. DIS blue ion pump running high tonight. I checked offsets for both (0) Object and (90) Horizon and -X offsets move the star left in the field for both (our cheatsheet had the signs reversed, I corrected it). We attempted boresight guiding again tonight for rot 90 Horizon and it seemed to track better tonight. We were in the same region of the sky as last night. Go figure? It seemed that increasing the exposure time for the faint targets helped keep the star on the boresight. It did seem to guide better though tonight even with most of the starlight going down the slit. No problems tonight and guiding seemed better behaved. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:18 dis-slit -302( -723) 23 65 -2.9 -0.5 2.4 -2.7 -2.4 - 1.48 01:11 dis-slit -97( -570) -41 61 -1.9 -1.6 -0.4 -3.2 -2.4 - 1.34 01:13 NA2gdr 580(22580) -42 61 -2.0 -1.6 -0.5 -3.2 -2.4 R 1.13 01:43 dis-slit -347( -843) -46 65 -2.1 -2.0 -1.3 -3.6 -2.7 - 0.90 01:43 NA2gdr 580(22580) -46 65 -2.1 -2.0 -1.3 -3.6 -2.7 R 0.80 03:51 dis-slit -22( -461) -80 40 1.6 -1.4 -0.3 -2.3 0.0 - 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 33 24 12 76 (ENE) 1192 clear humid 17:00 26 24 8 88 (E) 1734 clear humid 18:00 22 21 21 73 (ENE) 1370 clear humid 19:00 21 20 19 83 (E) 1477 clear humid 20:00 20 18 20 73 (ENE) 1684 clear humid 21:00 20 17 19 73 (ENE) 1772 clear humid 22:00 19 16 17 71 (ENE) 2153 clear humid 23:00 22 18 2 157 (SSE) 2124 clear none 00:00 29 25 2 286 (WNW) 2146 clear humid 01:00 29 21 3 256 (WSW) 2071 clear none 02:00 28 21 3 323 (NW) 1795 clear none 03:00 34 19 2 209 (SSW) 1865 clear none 04:00 29 19 1 209 (SSW) 1019 clear none 05:00 32 21 1 170 (S) 1378 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
