Around 22:00 there was a false critical alert on the Aux tank of Triplespec. The tank had been filled yesterday, The instrument had not been moved or rotated since. The temperatures were in the nominal range the rest of the night. At 00:47 the observer tracked the telescope into the upper limit. Although this is not a terrible thing to reach the software limit the slew that followed resulted in the following error message: "Telescope is moving too fast. Stop the telescope, then try your slew again." The slew was a short distance and ended before any actions could be taken however the message was alarming. The error occured at UT06:47:19. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:44 dis-slit -123( 35) 23 78 9.6 11.4 10.4 10.5 9.9 -- 1.12 01:04 dis-slit -157( -157) -64 80 8.7 8.2 8.7 7.0 8.4 -- 0.93 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 51 37 2 307 (NW) 1558 clear none 17:00 49 37 1 293 (WNW) 1524 clear none 18:00 50 27 7 356 (N) 1110 clear none 19:00 50 15 11 20 (NNE) 688 clear none 20:00 50 30 10 53 (NE) 1361 clear none 21:00 50 34 2 101 (E) 1632 clear none 22:00 49 31 1 194 (SSW) 1481 clear none 23:00 48 32 1 211 (SSW) 1690 clear none 00:00 48 27 1 227 (SW) 1222 clear none 01:00 48 25 1 255 (WSW) 1254 clear none 02:00 47 22 1 320 (NW) 1324 clear none 03:00 49 31 1 233 (SW) 1291 clear none 04:00 48 32 1 247 (WSW) 1569 clear none 05:00 48 32 1 293 (WNW) 1387 clear none 06:00 48 32 1 300 (WNW) 1393 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
