No Change. Nice night with decent seeing. Mike was quite happy with the performance of the telescope and instrument first half. He seemed quite excited by the data they collected on a tour of the outter solar system (Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and moons) tonight. APOLLO had a record breaking night. Russet reported they collected 65K returns. This is close to the yield for the McDonald station and perhaps half or a third of the entire yield of the French station EVER collected. They made four rounds through the Apollo reflectors in an hour. Second half went smoothly as well. Sarah felt she was able to get lots of useful data. No problems with telescope or instrument. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19:11 TSPEC -125( 302) 20 51 6.4 10.3 8.6 9.1 7.3 Ks 1.45 01:04 APOLLO -35( 870) 78 48 8.5 7.9 8.1 7.3 7.8 - 1.20 02:16 TSPEC -50( 228) -88 43 7.0 7.2 7.2 6.3 6.8 Ks 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 50 38 5 271 (W) 709 clear none 17:00 47 38 5 348 (NNW) 761 clear none 18:00 44 31 5 358 (N) 732 clear none 19:00 45 12 11 15 (NNE) 802 clear none 20:00 43 25 11 9 (N) 1053 clear none 21:00 46 22 21 22 (NNE) 1047 clear none 22:00 48 20 26 22 (NNE) 891 clear none 23:00 49 24 8 11 (N) 965 clear none 00:00 48 24 16 3 (N) 996 clear none 01:00 46 24 15 24 (NNE) 960 clear none 02:00 45 26 19 12 (NNE) 866 clear none 03:00 44 27 21 20 (NNE) 989 clear none 04:00 44 27 12 352 (N) 908 clear none 05:00 47 23 16 9 (N) 1065 clear none 06:00 47 21 15 18 (NNE) 1179 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
