No chance of opening. SPIcam had problems during checkout and we established that the shutter is stuck, rendering the instrument unusable. Daystaff will assess the cause of the problem and notify this week's upcoming SPIcam observers if the instrument will be down. NICFPS needed an expose init both at afternoon checkout and at midnight when the observers were ready to take their darks. I reduced and implemented Friday's pointing model (very nice after I removed some stars that were misidentified due to the changing cloud cover). I also did some tests of rotator motion and discovered that the new controller apparently doesn't like moving DIS around; that will need to be addressed. Once DIS was dismounted the rotator behaved perfectly until I stopped the test due to high humidity. Azimuth magnesensor errors are mostly small again, presumably due to the remap on Friday. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 33 14 251 (WSW) 213 cloudy lt rain 17:00 39 33 10 260 (W) 222 cloudy lt rain 18:00 38 33 15 268 (W) 307 cloudy lt rain 19:00 38 33 20 271 (W) 313 cloudy lt rain 20:00 37 33 13 266 (W) 405 cloudy none 21:00 36 35 15 263 (W) 432 cloudy none 22:00 37 35 19 258 (WSW) 315 cloudy none 23:00 37 35 25 217 (SW) 286 cloudy none 00:00 38 35 24 216 (SW) 311 cloudy none 01:00 37 34 25 216 (SW) 403 cloudy none 02:00 37 34 31 236 (SW) 434 cloudy none 03:00 36 34 34 216 (SW) 568 cloudy none 04:00 36 34 31 232 (SW) 619 cloudy fog 05:00 35 35 37 244 (WSW) 58048 cloudy fog 06:00 35 35 40 242 (WSW) 4725 cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
