A nicfps expose init fixed the problem. I suggested monitoring their incoming data to watch for problems, but that we have seen this happen in the past only once during the night during the beginning for some unknown reason. 07:12:xxUTC I did a MS.DUMP of AZ drive magnasensor errors. noticed larger >10" errors. The telescope had been tracking object for several hrs. without slewing. These seemed to be increasing as time went on. 09:50:32UTC another MS.DUMP of the AZ drive, this one showed the last magnasensor error 10". 11:06:05UTC another MS.DUMP of the AZ drive We gave up at 04:00 due to increasing clouds. No telescope problems other than the NICFPS problem at the start of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:54 NICFPS 52(223) -48 46 -1.7 -1.1 -0.8 -1.8 -1.5 Ks 0.7 18:57 NICFPS 34(190) -61 36 -1.7 -1.6 -1.0 -1.9 -1.7 Ks 0.9 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions --------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 33 5 18 246 (WSW) 1467 clear none 17:00 30 6 21 268 (W) 1640 clear none 18:00 29 2 17 276 (W) 1262 clear none 19:00 29 4 15 262 (W) 1322 mst. clr none 20:00 30 -1 15 267 (W) 1152 cirrus none 21:00 31 -3 13 269 (W) 997 cirrus none 22:00 31 -1 13 275 (W) 906 cirrus none 23:00 30 1 13 275 (W) 992 cirrus none 00:00 30 3 9 263 (W) 1019 cirrus none 01:00 29 5 11 263 (W) 1003 cirrus none 02:00 28 6 11 264 (W) 1049 cldy none 03:00 28 6 9 239 (WSW) 1034 cldy none 04:00 30 -1 14 267 (W) 804 cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
